The founder of Okatsune, Tsuneichi Okano, began his career as a blacksmith apprentice in 1925 and founded Okatsune in the 1940s. Now, 70 years on, Okatsune justifiably are world-renowned makers of shears, secateurs and snips.

Okatsune’s razor-sharp tools are uniquely forged from the best Izumo Yasugi steel, which was traditionally used for the Katana swords used by the Samurai. Okatsune secateurs and shears are razor sharp. The hardness and quality of the steel ensure a clean and precise cut, yet it's easy to sharpen the blades back to a razor edge using a whetstone.
